Next project meeting!
On Friday, February 26, 2021, the third meeting of the project’s partner group took place
“The Academy of the Conscious Parent – A replacement parent is urgently needed!” Due to the state of the pandemic, the meeting was held online on the Mirosoft Teams platform.

we focused on improving our website and discussed alternative ways to carry out the training and meeting in Lithuania planned for May. We discussed the action plan and the first steps of creating the “Help-desk” guide.
Control meeting on the actions taken at MOPS
On February 4, 2021. at the headquarters of the Municipal Social Welfare Center in Żory, another meeting was held to summarize the project “Academy of the conscious parent – Parent urgently needed for replacement” implemented under the Erazmus + Program financed by the European Union Fund. The project is implemented in partnership with the Foundation for Education – SMART from Opole, Viešoji Įstaiga Mano šeimos akademija from Lithuania and INSTITUTO DE APOIO A CRIANÇA from Portugal. The meeting was attended by employees of the Foster Care Department of the local Center, i.e. coordinators, social workers and a psychologist. All these people carry out tasks for children placed in family foster care in the area of the City of Żory. The meeting was devoted to summing up the activities carried out so far under the Project as well as establishing an action plan for the next period.

we discussed further goals and activities related to the project, presented the project website and planned the schedule for the current year. Despite the difficulties related to the pandemic, we are constantly developing and constantly looking for solutions that will ensure the development and success of the project – “Conscious Parent Academy – Replacement parent urgently needed!”.
The project „Conscious Parent Academy – Replacement parent urgently needed!”
The project „Conscious Parent Academy – Replacement parent urgently needed!” is funded by the Erasmus+ programme. It is a project addressed to employees who professionally support foster families: foster care coordinators, psychologists, therapists, family assistants and foster families.
The project aims to:
- improving the quality of care for children in foster care by training foster families,
- increasing social awareness about foster care and its importance for children in a difficult life situation,
- providing training and workshops for employees who professionally support foster families: foster care coordinators, psychologists, therapists, family assistants, which will allow them to improve their skills and knowledge in the field of foster care and solve problems related to foster families more effectively.
- creating tools to support the implementation of tasks resulting from foster care,
In the „Conscious Parent Academy – Replacement parent urgently needed!” project, the following results will be produced:
- Webinar – online training, which will be intended for both employees and foster families. It will be an opportunity to familiarize yourself with topics related to the foster care system at any time and anywhere in the world.
The project will produce three webinars on the following topics:
a) Legal aspects of foster care,
b) Psycho-pedagogy of trauma,
c) professional burnout,
- Helpdesk – it will be a kind of guide with the most important questions and answers. The helpdesk will be helpful, for example, in a situation where foster carers encounter difficulties in relations with their charges.
The project will create three helpdesks on the following topics:
- Functioning of foster care in partner countries: Lithuania, Poland, Portugal,
- Care and work with children with negative and traumatic experiences,
- How to prepare to become a foster parent?
